How to split an order : managing orders with limited stock
Last updated: July 21, 2026
Transform stock shortages from challenges into opportunities with our split orders feature. Instead of reducing quantities or canceling orders, you can now maintain your full order value by shipping available products immediately and creating a backorder for the rest. This approach not only secures your sales but also enhances retailer satisfaction through faster partial deliveries. The process is straightforward: divide your existing order into two, specify the quantities for each shipment, and manage both immediate and future deliveries efficiently through your dashboard.
How to split an order?
Step 1 : Select the order to split in the “Orders” section
Log in to your account and navigate to the "Orders" section.
In the order detail page of an order that you need to accept, you can now choose to click on the split order button. Ensure you review all items to determine which are ready for shipment.
Step 2 : Select the items and quantities which will be shipped later
Select the items and quantities that can’t be shipped according to your shipping pledge, and specify a new deadline to ship them later on once they’re available.
Step 3 : Confirm and Finalize
Review your selections, confirm the split and the both orders will be automatically accepted.
Both orders will be linked but independent in terms of shipping, invoicing, reception issues and payout.
Step 4 : Communicate with Retailer
The Retailer will be informed about the split by email and you will have the opportunity to also leave a direct message to the retailer through your back office Ankorstore. The email will include the expected delivery times for each part of their order.
Step 5: Fulfil the orders
You can now dispatch your available products in the first place (according to your shipping lead time), and ship the remaining ones when you are ready (according to the new deadline you’ve set). For each part of the original order, the shipping methods are selected independently, which can for example be used to ship part of the order using Ankorlogistics Fulfilment and the rest using your own carrier or Ankorlogisitics Shipping (depending on your location and the available shipping method available).
